I bought a small house in the middle of some beautiful countryside and had it entirely renovated.<br /><br />Then an opportunity came up to buy another great house, which I subsequently rented out to a friend's mother.<br /><br />Soon after that - to keep myself occupied and fulfil my dream of running a French-stlye <i>brocante</i> - I bought a small place in a nearby town and turned it into a shop with living quarters.<br /><br />However, back in England my daughter became pregnant, and I eventually decided I'd like to return and live close to her and my grandchildren.
